Attorney Thomas A. Holman

New York business fraud lawyer Thomas A. Holman grew up in Westchester County, New York and graduated from Harrison High School in 1965. Mr. Holman earned his Bachelor of Arts degree magna cum laude from Lehigh University in 1969. He graduated from Fordham Law School in 1972.

Mr. Holman has been an attorney for more than 38 years, having passed the bar exam on his first attempt in 1973. Immediately after passing the bar, Tom Holman began to handle cases for trial, specializing in federal court and New York State court litigation at the trial and appellate level. Legal Background

In the 1980s and 1990s, Thomas A. Holman was a partner or special counsel with a number of leading firms in New York. Those firms were: Lipsig, Sullivan & Liapakis; Hill Betts & Nash; and Summit Rovins & Feldesman. In 1992, he joined a firm that eventually became Lefrak and Holman, with their main office on Madison Avenue in New York, New York. The firm specialized in securities litigation, business law, estate planning and taxation. In 1996, Mr. Holman formed another firm, Starr & Holman LLP. That firm specialized in securities fraud, class actions, employment cases, and commercial litigation. In 2003, after Mr. Starr decided to move his main office to Long Island, Mr. Holman continued to work in the New Jersey and New York area as a business fraud lawyer, establishing Holman Law (a professional corporation) in the Midtown West area of New York City.

Associations & Memberships

Mr. Holman lectures at attorneys’ continuing education seminars on litigation issues. He is a member of the New York Bar, and the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, and has been a member of the New York State Bar Association, American Bar Association, and the New York County Lawyers Association. He has also served as Chairman of the State Legislation Committee for the New York County Lawyers Association, and as a member of the State Legislation Committee of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York. For 10 years, Thomas Holman was a member of Manhattan Community Board No. 6, and during his tenure, he chaired its Housing and Public Safety Committees.
